Pietra
Dura
Flooring
The Kaos pietra dura floor is intended as a stylistic flashback, placing us firmly in the design milieu of the ‘60s / ’70s. It is an unmistakable tribute to pop-art; in the centre of the room, surrounded by the dazzling optical inlay of the floor, one might expect to see a splendid coffee table by Allen Jones, who in 1969 created a collection with fibreglass tailors’ dummies (Hatstand, Table and Chair) like those featured in A Clockwork Orange, the cult-movie by Stanley Kubrick. To overcome the black-and-white effect, we have also used marbles in warm shades which make the curves of the pietra dura pattern more elegant and sumptuous. The mirror walls that surround the floor multiply the flowing lines to infinity, disorientating anyone in the room ... real Kaos!
